Yesenia, Yez, is a project leader with over twelve years of experience in architecture and design, with work expanding across the Rio Grande Valley and Central Texas. Her portfolio includes K‑12, higher education, commercial, residential, and religious projects. She excels at bringing client vision to life through strong communication, collaboration, and leadership.
She has served on multiple committees within AIA LRGV, is the former Emerging Professionals Director, and currently serves as the Texas Society of Architects Associate Director. Her leadership development has been strengthened through the AIA San Antonio 2PLP program and her participation in Leadership McAllen Class 39, both of which expanded her professional network and deepened her commitment to serving the architectural and local community.
A dedicated community advocate, Yez supports engineering and construction organizations and is passionate about architecture, higher education, and women’s empowerment. She has participated in several women‑in‑AEC panels and contributes to higher education through motivational talks for incoming freshmen, attending design reviews, and offering lectures at local colleges and the university.
Her academic achievements include studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain; being recognized as a top finalist in the Celebration of Excellence for her graduate thesis; receiving the College of Architecture Diversity Award; and having her thesis published in the Texas Target Communities publication for the City of Hidalgo Comprehensive Plan of Expansion. She has also taught in the Architectural & Engineering Department at South Texas College and holds a Master of Architecture and a certification in Sustainable Urbanism from Texas A&M University.
