The new City Hall and Transit Terminal will relate to the community by means of the construction of a U-shaped block that gives front to the terminal entry on Nebraska Avenue and towards 6th Street an interior receiving façade with an inner courtyard that naturally achieves passive heating and cooling design strategies. The aesthetic of the architecture weaves the community’s history, culture, and land into the fabric of the building’s design. It will house multiple city departments along with a coffee shop for employee and community service.
