Description

As Texas’ only magnet school district, South Texas ISD offers Medical, Health, Science and Business-Education-Technology specialized educational opportunities or academies to its high school students to prepare them for the rigors of college and the 21st Century workplace. South Texas ISD asked ERO to re-purpose a former high school in San Benito to create its second middle school which purpose is preparing middle school students for success in high school. The facility, Rising Scholars Academy, develops and reinforces the learning habits, skills and experiences required for high school math, science and technology.

ERO modernized the Rising Scholars Academy facility to accommodate 757 6th through 8th graders. The kitchen was rebuilt and the cafeteria renovated. The band hall, gymnasium and one locker were renovated. A music room and second locker room were added. Existing classrooms were modernized with full spectrum lighting, technology, and laboratories for experimentation and advanced learning.
