Description

ERO Architects is the architect-of-record for the Brownsville Public Utility Board’s (BPUB) new Annex Building - a 63,167 gross building square foot, three-story modern office building. The building creates office spaces for customer services, utility engineering, financial management and executive office spaces. It will house the BPUB energy control center, Network Operation Center and SCADA center and pump stations management.

As a result of housing such important departments and major operation centers, the building is designated as a Risk Category IV Essential Facility. Redundant electrical, mechanical, and communication systems support the daily operations of BPUB and accommodate needs required during an emergency event. The design’s board room is sufficiently flexible to function as an emergency control center and provide employees with overnight facilities, if needed.

The interior design and space design provides 21st century comfort and accommodations by efficiently maximizing the usage of space throughout the facility.

The site and landscaping design is an inviting array of native flora interconnected by a pedestrian walking trails to provide the community active areas as well as rest seating areas. The project is under construction by Noble Texas Builders and the anticipated completion date is March 2021.
